Saint Ignatius – 14 Rules of Discernment of Spirits

Rules for becoming aware and understanding the different movements caused in the soul, the good, to receive them, and the bad to reject them. All moral conduct may be summed up in the rule: avoid evil and do good. The gift of discernment can help us “(1) detect hidden errors and evil in others, (2) detect hidden errors and evil in ourselves, (3) find and bring forth the good that may be concealed in others, and (4) find and bring forth the good that may be concealed in us.”
