On Being Grateful & Living A Full Life

  • An Enncrave compilation

“ You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.” — Mae West.

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count.  It’s the life in your years.”  –  Abraham Lincoln

In old age, one truth gets sharper: people can fade—friends drift, children get busy, partners change or leave. And if your peace depends on being needed, approved of, or surrounded… aging can feel terrifying. In this video, we use Immanuel Kant’s brutal clarity—“become a law unto yourself”—to explain what actually makes old age happy, stable, and psychologically strong. This isn’t about becoming cold or isolating yourself. It’s about building an inner foundation so your life doesn’t collapse when the phone gets quiet. Stay to the end—Pillar #3 is the one that exposes why aging feels painful for so many: the hidden addiction to approval.

0:00 Don’t Skip 1:59 Pillar #1 — Being alone without becoming miserable 5:07 Pillar #2 — Order and daily rhythm 8:23 Pillar #3 — Indifference to other people’s judgment 11:40 Pillar #4 — Fidelity to yourself / meaning through small sacred acts 14:56 Conclusion

A powerful message every older adult needs to hear… As we age, peace becomes more precious than productivity, and what we choose to let go of matters more than what we hold onto. In this heartfelt video, we share essential wisdom that every person over 70 should know: what to stop saying and doing, and where not to go, if you want to live the rest of your life with dignity, emotional freedom, and inner peace.

ON BEING GRATEFUL TO GOD

According to the hermit priest, there are three temptations from the evil one:

1) Regret of the past

2) Worry about the future

3) Ungratefulness in the present

These temptations are used by the evil one to lead us away from God and into sin.

– No matter how much you regret it, you cannot change the past.

– No matter how much you worry, the future will not change; you cannot control it.

– Your ungratefulness can make your life feel ugly and depressing.

Leave the past to God. If we want to create a better future, we must focus on improving our lives in the present. The best way to live today is to be grateful for all the blessings we have received from Him. Always give thanks to the Lord.

Please take a moment to pray and thank God for your blessings. Don’t rush; pause for a moment, and you will find your life can be better and happier.

Start with gratitude. Spend a little time reflecting on what you are thankful for, regardless of your problems—God still blesses you. There is always something to thank God for in this life.

Make sure to take a moment to stop (don’t rush), pray, and reflect. Amen.
